As a Surgical Services Support Technician in the OR, you will have opportunities to interact with patients while transporting them to designated areas and perform various technical support tasks. Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross upon hire or obtain within the new hire period
- One year of customer service experience
- Experience working in a team environment
Responsibilities
- Safely transport patients to designated areas per nursing requests.
- Assist nursing caregivers during surgical cases as requested.
- Maintain and control support services equipment and supplies.
- Maintain the OR in an aesthetically safe and sanitary condition.
- Escort and direct customers to the appropriate source for assistance.
- Provide a safe environment for patients and their families.
- Comply with entering job tasks in electronic computer software programs.
- Assist nursing service with prepping and shaving patients for surgery.
- Coordinate and maintain Uniform Room activities such as locker assignments and scrubs for all O.R. personnel.
- Properly handle and dispose of hazardous waste.
- Comply with special cleaning requests for radioactive waste and infection control surgical cases.
