About The Position

The Surgical Services Scheduler - Operating Room is responsible for scheduling all surgical procedures, necessary equipment, and pre-op testing to ensure a smooth surgical course for the patient. This role coordinates patient scheduling with the surgeon's office and confirms bed availability for inpatient admissions. The scheduler is proactive in filling all daily surgical slots according to blocked scheduling requirements. They interact with physician offices and other departments to obtain necessary patient information and records for safe surgical procedures. Additionally, they consult with other departments as needed for an interdisciplinary approach to pre and post-surgical patient needs, perform daily chart audits, and assist with pre-op interview patient flow.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of similar experience required.
