About The Position

MercyOne Dubuque is seeking a part-time LPN or RN for Surgical Services. This role involves promoting excellence in nursing practice and a thriving professional practice environment. MercyOne Dubuque is a leading hospital in the tri-states, recognized as a Magnet® hospital for nursing excellence, and offers a wide range of services including cardiology, a neonatal intensive care unit, and a cancer center.

Requirements

  • Must be a registered nurse and must hold an active license to practice nursing in the State of Iowa. (For RN)
  • The Licensed Practical Nurse must hold an active license to practice nursing in the state of Iowa. (For LPN)
  • Graduation from an approved program for practical nurses is required. (For LPN)
  • Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training is required within 6 months of hire and every 3 years thereafter.
  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) will be required within 30 days of hire and every 2 years thereafter.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred or within 4 years of hire. (For RN)
  • Certification by a nationally recognized nursing organization is preferred and strongly encouraged. (For RN)
  • The registered nurse continuously seeks opportunities to enhance his or her own professional nursing practice. Membership in an appropriate professional nursing organization is recommended. (For RN)
  • The Licensed Practical Nurse must maintain continuing education units per the state licensure requirements and continuously seek opportunities to enhance his or her own professional nursing practice. (For LPN)
  • Membership in an appropriate professional nursing organization is recommended. (For LPN)
