About The Position

The Surgical Services Educator is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs for surgical services staff. This role supports the manager in daily operations, ensuring patient safety, high-quality outcomes, and an exceptional patient/family experience. The educator will also assist with budget monitoring, purchasing, and payroll processes, serving as a technical/clinical resource and performing work assignments as needed. They will mentor and assist staff, and may coordinate or assist with staff education, orientation, and precepting.

Requirements

• RN License (Required)
• BLS
• 2 years of RN Experience (Required)
• 1 year of Leadership Experience (Required)

Responsibilities

• Assist the manager for the daily operations of one or more clinical areas.
• Supervise patient care services staff to ensure patient safety, provide high quality outcomes and an exceptional patient/family experience.
• Assist manager in the development and monitoring of the departmental budget.
• Coordinate the purchasing and payroll processes.
• Serve as a technical/clinical resource to team members.
• Perform work assignments as needed to provide appropriate coverage and to mentor/assist staff.
• Assist manager with interviewing, hiring, developing, and retaining staff members with the goal of developing a highly reliable work team.
• Coordinate and/or assist with staff education, orientation and precepting of members of the team.
