About The Position

HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist surgical team members in providing intraoperative care to the perioperative patient by preparing and monitoring equipment, passing instruments, maintaining the sterile field, assisting with patient transfer/positioning and performing a variety of surgical skills and procedures. Position Specifics: • Department: General Surgery • Core Function: Surgical • Schedule: Full Time, 40 hours/week, Days • Facility: St. Elizabeth’s Hospital • Location: O’Fallon, IL • Sign on Bonus: $10,000 • Compensation that aligns with your experience

Requirements

  • Graduate from a recognized surgical technology program or has successfully completed military training in surgical technology is required.
  • Military documentation to establish education includes a DD214 demonstrating graduation from a military training program.
  • Certified Surgical Technologists (CST) issued by National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting Certification is required or proof of current certification by one of the following certifying bodies: National Surgical Assistant Association for the certification of surgical assistants; Liaison Council on Certification for the Surgical Technologist as a certified first assistant or American Board of Surgical Assistants in Illinois.
  • Certified surgical technology through an approved Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) for Wisconsin.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree in surgical technology is preferred.
  • 1 year surgery experience is preferred.
