Capital Health is seeking a full-time Surgical Scheduler to work in the Vascular Specialists department. This role collaborates with the OR and GI Endoscopy Unit to schedule cases, negotiate dates and times, and avoid resource conflicts. The Surgical Scheduler will coordinate special procedure needs, gather complete patient and procedure information, and schedule procedures and testing for patients at the hospital. They will prepare and distribute schedules, work closely with physicians and office administration to maximize utilization of time, and obtain pre-certification and authorizations from insurance carriers. The position also involves completing referrals and pre-certifications, assisting co-workers, working independently to provide prompt patient service, overseeing registration and checkout, handling medical records, and reviewing routine issues with the physician. The Surgical Scheduler will also handle patient problems/complaints, perform medical receptionist duties, coordinate follow-up care, manage medical records, plan daily schedules to maximize physician productivity, coordinate other physician activities, and work with providers to implement scheduling for maximum productivity. Additionally, they will coordinate the scheduling of resources like exam rooms and equipment, and work with leadership to develop and implement practice growth plans.
