The Surgical Scheduler is responsible for coordinating the scheduling of surgical procedures between physicians and their offices, available OR specialty time, anesthesia, and other departments as necessary. This role also involves coordinating and communicating changes to the existing schedule, maintaining and updating surgery assignments, printing and distributing OR schedules, and notifying providers of schedule changes. Additionally, the scheduler obtains necessary lab work, x-rays, and H&P, processes patient charges, reviews revenue for accuracy, and runs reports to verify correct entry of codes. The position requires answering and triaging incoming calls, acting as a resource to providers and staff, operating office equipment, and potentially maintaining office supply inventory.
