Capital Health is seeking a Surgical Scheduler to join their team. This full-time position operates during day shifts and is based in the CMG Call Center in Newtown, PA. The Surgical Scheduler will collaborate with the OR and GI Endoscopy Unit to schedule cases, negotiate dates and times, and avoid resource conflicts. They will coordinate special procedure needs, gather complete patient and procedure information, and schedule procedures and testing for patients at the hospital. The role involves preparing and distributing schedules, working closely with physicians and office administration to maximize utilization, and obtaining pre-certification and authorizations from insurance carriers. The position also requires completing referrals and pre-certifications, assisting co-workers, working independently to provide prompt patient service, and overseeing registration, checkout, and medical record handling for efficient patient flow. The scheduler will review routine issues with physicians, handle patient problems/complaints, and refer difficult situations to the Director/Manager. Additional duties include performing medical receptionist duties such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, filing, checking patients in/out, collecting co-pays, and completing associated paperwork. They will also coordinate communication of follow-up care needs, oversee medical record filing and chart management, plan daily schedules to maximize physician productivity, and coordinate other physician activities and hospital patient activity. The role involves working directly with providers to implement scheduling for maximum productivity and coordinating the scheduling of resources like exam rooms and equipment. Collaboration with physicians and management is key for developing and implementing practice growth plans.
