The Surgical Scheduler serves as the central communication and coordination hub for perioperative scheduling operations. This role is responsible for the accurate scheduling and posting of surgical and procedural cases while maintaining continuous communication between physician office staff, anesthesia providers, operating room personnel, and other ancillary departments. The Scheduling Coordinator works collaboratively with the Team Coordinator, Nurse Manager, Director, and multidisciplinary perioperative team to optimize operating room utilization, support efficient patient throughput, and ensure the availability of required resources for scheduled procedures. The incumbent prepares, updates, and distributes the daily operating room schedule, proactively addressing scheduling conflicts, block utilization, and operational changes to maximize efficiency and minimize delays. This position requires a high degree of organization, attention to detail, and the ability to function effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced healthcare environment.
