About The Position

Under the supervision of the Healthcare Leadership, this role directs, coordinates, and facilitates the surgical scheduling activities of all clinic physicians. The Surgical Scheduler utilizes appropriate administrative, financial, and operational policies and procedures to facilitate continuity of care for the surgical patient. This role also acts as a liaison between the department and other surgical and financial areas.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Demonstrated knowledge of specialty surgical procedures with associated acuity levels and specialized equipment, ancillary services and staffing needs.
• 1 year of experience scheduling in a healthcare environment required.
• CPC (Certified Procedural Coder) certification required within 12 months of hire or transfer.

Nice To Haves

• Medical Terminology Course
• Experience in electronic surgical scheduling program a plus.
