About The Position

Inova Loudoun Ambulatory Surgery Center is a full service ambulatory outpatient facility providing cost-effective outpatient services using modern, state-of-the-art technology in a friendly and caring environment. We are located on the campus of Inova Loudoun Hospital in Leesburg, Virginia.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
Comprehension of medical terminology.
Minimum one (1) year scheduling experience in an ambulatory surgery facility, acute-care hospital, or doctor’s office.
Experience using scheduling software.
Experience using Windows 95 or NT.
Excellent communication skills.
Competency in oral and written skills.
Ability to prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

Schedules all outpatient surgeries and procedures for busy Ambulatory Surgery Center.
Coordinates efforts with Clinical Staff to prevent equipment and staffing conflicts and schedules ancillary services relative to a procedure(s).
Prepares and distributes the daily surgery schedule.
Assists with registration forms, patient ID tags, and patient chart preparation for next day cases.
Ensures the completeness and accuracy of information in the medical chart prior to the admission and compiles unsigned transcribed dictation.
Captures complete and accurate patient clinical, demographic and insurance information.
Communicates same day and next day add-on cases, scheduling conflicts, and any patient problems.
Tracks cancellations; monitors and maintains block time.
Cross trains in other aspects of Business Office operations as needed.
