About The Position

Under general supervision of the Coordinator/Manager/Director, performs the following responsibilities: Cleans, inspects, assembles, packages, disinfects, and sterilizes all surgical products used in inpatient, outpatient, operating room, emergency room, delivery room, and satellite departments. Documents and monitors all sterilization processes (steam, ETOH, Sterrad, and high-level disinfectants) to ensure compliance with established standards. Receives, unpacks, shelves, and stocks supplies while maintaining appropriate par levels and rotation principles for sterile supply management. Coordinates with surgical specialty teams to prepare procedure-specific case carts according to surgeon preference cards, ensuring all necessary supplies, equipment, instruments, and implants are available for each patient.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and hospital personnel.
  • Computer skills.
  • Completion of the 120-day orientation: Successfully completes department and hospital orientation process
  • Competence maintained during evaluation year to include department standards, objectives, in service and continuing education.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of medical terminology course is preferred.
  • BCLS preferred.
