Requirements

  • Graduate of four-year U.S. Medical School or equivalent
  • Completion of General Surgery residence
  • Board Certified in General Surgery
  • Board fellowship in Surgical Oncology or equivalent experience
  • Medical License in applicable state.
  • BLS for Provider certification from the American Heart Association required.

  • ATLS preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provides a full range of cancer care to patients of Legacy Health in office, outpatient, or inpatient settings, including the full mix of patient problems and surgical approaches.
  • Provides “non-trauma” coverage on an “on-call” capacity for Legacy Hospitals.
  • Provides office follow-up of cancer patients.
  • Provides consultation on various cancer-related issues.
  • Participates in Legacy Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement programs as appropriate for clinical practice.
  • Participates on relevant committees as requested.
  • Participates in community outreach activities regarding Legacy’s Cancer Services.
  • Completes medical records, coding and billing schedules and forms, and other needed paperwork in a timely fashion.
  • Works with adult and elderly/geriatric patients.
  • Works with other specialists to develop a comprehensive Legacy Cancer program.
