About The Position

The Nursing Assistant assists in the treatment and care of the patient under the direction of a Staff RN. Provides personal care that includes bathing, feeding, skin and mouth care and changing bed lines. Collects, documents, and reports vital signs such as: temperature, blood pressure, pulse, height and weight. Empties patient drainage containers and maintains accurate intake and output records. Assists with pre-operative, intra-operative and post-operative care which includes, positioning, lifting and turning. Reports changes observed in the condition or behavior of the patient. Assists with treatment procedures. Assists in maintaining supplies and reports malfunctioning equipment. Remains compliant with HIPAA, maintains professionalism and ensures confidentiality of patient information.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent preferred.
  • STNA preferred.
  • CPR/When Seconds Count/HOPE within the first six months of employment.
  • Nursing assistant experience preferred.
  • Must be able to physically exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work.
  • Position may require frequent patient handling activity.

Nice To Haves

  • STNA preferred.
  • Nursing assistant experience preferred.
