About The Position

MPOWERHealth is seeking a Surgical First Assist to support robotic and traditional surgeries across specialties including gynecology, urology, obstetrics, spine, and orthopedics. The role includes assisting surgeons in the operating room, supporting patients before and after surgery, and contributing to clinical and operational improvement efforts. Candidates should be able to work independently and adapt to diverse, fast-paced operating room environments.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience as a Surgical First Assist, including robotics experience in GYN, urology, OB, spine, and other specialties.
• Graduate of an accredited PA, NP, RNFA, or CSA program.
• Active state license and applicable national certifications, such as NCCPA for PAs or CNOR or RNFA for NPs.
• Proficiency in MS Office and EMR systems.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-focused approach.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to diverse operating room environments.
• Ability to work as a confident, adaptable team player in a fast-paced surgical setting.
• Commitment to continuous learning and exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a first assist during robotic and traditional surgeries, including GYN, urology, OB, spine, and orthopedics.
• Anticipate surgeon needs, maintain a sterile field, and optimize patient positioning.
• Collaborate with the operating room team to support precision, efficiency, and patient outcomes.
• Connect with patients before surgery and help ensure they feel informed and at ease.
• Confirm cases, manage essential documentation, and facilitate patient transfers.
• Provide detailed handovers to PACU staff to support continuity of care.
• Participate in clinical and operational improvement projects, including training and process enhancements.
• Learn additional surgical specialties and stay current with developments in surgery.
