Requirements
- At least 2 years of surgical assisting experience
- Hands-on experience assisting in Ortho, Spine, General, GYN, and Robotics
- Strong technical skills in the operating room
- Graduate of an Accredited program- PA/NP/CSFA
- Ability to acquire Texas state license
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt to different personalities and needs
- A customer-service mindset
- Confidence to work independently and autonomously
- Able to perform all essential duties with or without accommodation, including: Ability to lift, sit, stand, or squat
- Constant seeing, hearing, and speaking
- Frequent lifting up to 20+ lbs., plus bending, reaching, standing, walking, and kneeling
Nice To Haves
- Spine experience is a plus
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary surgical first assist, providing critical hands-on support throughout procedures.
- Confirm cases, meet patients, walk them through procedures, gather documentation, and coordinate closely with OR staff.
- Support patient positioning, maintain a sterile field, anticipate the surgeon's next move, and work in sync with the surgical team.
- Assist with patient transfer, deliver thorough PACU handoffs, and complete documentation with precision.
- Contribute to clinical and operational initiatives — education, training, and process improvement.
- Bring a willingness to learn new surgical specialties and expand your skill set.
