About The Position

MPOWERHealth is seeking a Surgical First Assist (PA/NP/RNFA/CSA) for an OR-only role. This is a full-time, salaried position with full benefits, not a locums, travel, or staffing role. MPOWERHealth partners with hospitals, health systems, and surgeons to provide Intraoperative Neuromonitoring and Surgical First Assist services. The role involves providing critical hands-on support throughout surgical procedures, including pre-operative patient confirmation and education, intra-operative assistance with patient positioning and maintaining a sterile field, and post-operative patient transfer and documentation. The position also requires contributing to clinical and operational initiatives and a willingness to learn new surgical specialties.

Requirements

At least 2 years of surgical assisting experience
Hands-on experience assisting in Ortho, Spine, General, GYN, and Robotics
Strong technical skills in the operating room
Graduate of an Accredited program- PA/NP/CSFA
Ability to acquire AZ state license

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary surgical first assist, providing critical hands-on support throughout procedures.
Confirm cases, meet patients, walk them through procedures, gather documentation, and coordinate closely with OR staff.
Support patient positioning, maintain a sterile field, anticipate the surgeon's next move, and work in sync with the surgical team.
Assist with patient transfer, deliver thorough PACU handoffs, and complete documentation with precision.
Contribute to clinical and operational initiatives — education, training, and process improvement.
Bring a willingness to learn new surgical specialties and expand your skill set.
