Requirements

  • 2+ years of surgical dental assisting experience
  • Strong knowledge of periodontal and oral surgery terminology
  • Experience with implant procedures, All-on-Four, and overdentures
  • Proficiency taking impressions
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail and professionalism
  • Ability to adapt in a dynamic clinical environment
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and twist throughout the workday
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs
  • Manual dexterity to frequently handle instruments and assist patients safely

Nice To Haves

  • Radiology certification
  • CPR certification
  • Dental assisting and/or surgical assisting certificate
  • Experience with SoftDent software

Responsibilities

  • Assist the doctor chairside during periodontal, implant, and surgical procedures
  • Prepare and break down operatories and surgical instruments
  • Take high-quality digital radiographs, CBCT scans, and IOS scans
  • Monitor patients post-anesthesia and assist with ongoing surgical support
  • Review medical histories, record blood pressure, medications, and medical alerts
  • Ensure consent forms and patient records are completed accurately
  • Educate patients on procedures, medications, and pre/post-operative care
  • Maintain sterilization and infection control protocols in compliance with OSHA/HIPAA standards
  • Fabricate Essix retainers
  • Assist with implant procedures, All-on-Four cases, overdentures, and surgical guide workflows
  • Manage clinical inventory and maintain surgical equipment
  • Make patient follow-up calls as needed
  • Assist with opening and closing duties
  • Support team members to maintain a positive, efficient office environment
