Surgical Dental Assistant

Requirements
- 2+ years of surgical dental assisting experience
- Strong knowledge of periodontal and oral surgery terminology
- Experience with implant procedures, All-on-Four, and overdentures
- Proficiency taking impressions
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail and professionalism
- Ability to adapt in a dynamic clinical environment
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and twist throughout the workday
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs
- Manual dexterity to frequently handle instruments and assist patients safely
Nice To Haves
- Radiology certification
- CPR certification
- Dental assisting and/or surgical assisting certificate
- Experience with SoftDent software
Responsibilities
- Assist the doctor chairside during periodontal, implant, and surgical procedures
- Prepare and break down operatories and surgical instruments
- Take high-quality digital radiographs, CBCT scans, and IOS scans
- Monitor patients post-anesthesia and assist with ongoing surgical support
- Review medical histories, record blood pressure, medications, and medical alerts
- Ensure consent forms and patient records are completed accurately
- Educate patients on procedures, medications, and pre/post-operative care
- Maintain sterilization and infection control protocols in compliance with OSHA/HIPAA standards
- Fabricate Essix retainers
- Assist with implant procedures, All-on-Four cases, overdentures, and surgical guide workflows
- Manage clinical inventory and maintain surgical equipment
- Make patient follow-up calls as needed
- Assist with opening and closing duties
- Support team members to maintain a positive, efficient office environment
