About The Position

Bedi Dental Group is seeking a highly-skilled and motivated Surgical Dental Assistant to join their established practice. The ideal candidate accepts a high level of responsibility and provides support for Dentists to efficiently care for patients. This includes completing intake paperwork, updating patient records, sterilizing and organizing dental tools, and assisting as needed during dental procedures. The group welcomes Dental Assistants who are excellent communicators and can build strong relationships with both patients and co-workers. Bedi Dental Group supports its team of providers and staff.

Requirements

  • Graduate of accredited dental assisting program.
  • A minimum of 2 years, out of school experience in a clinical setting.
  • State certification to practice Dental Assistance, and meet all applicable state requirements.
  • Compliance with state dental practice requirements (e.g., x-ray requirements, OSHA training).
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills to communicate with patients and staff.
  • Leading with compassion and a commitment to the full patient care experience.

  • Eaglesoft and/or Dentrix knowledge

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for assisting the dentist in the clinical treatment of patients.
  • Ensure a high level of patient attentiveness, understanding and care.
  • Maintain treatment room to ensure cleanliness and sterilization per OSHA regulations.
  • Securely store and handle patient records in compliance with state and federal requirements, including HIPAA privacy and security regulations.
  • Promptly send out and monitor all dental laboratory cases.
  • Track cases and referrals to and from other doctors.
  • Ensure that treatment rooms are stocked at all times.
  • Help in other areas of the office when necessary (i.e.; answering phones, unpacking supplies, completing insurance forms, moving former patient records, ect.).
  • Perform expanded functions and other tasks as assigned by the dentist.
