Surgical Critical Care APP (PA/ACNP)
About The Position
Beth Israel Lahey Health is hiring a Surgical Critical Care Advanced Practice Provider (PA/ACNP) in Burlington, Massachusetts. The role provides direct care for critically ill surgical patients in a patient-focused critical care setting, rotating between two 12-bed units: the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) and Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CTICU). The hospital is a nationally recognized 345-bed tertiary hospital and Level 1 Trauma Center. The collaborative team includes 12 APPs, 14 intensivists, and residents, and cares for diverse cardiothoracic, trauma, transplant, and neurosurgery patients. The APP manages ventilators, resuscitation, hemodynamics, ECMO, and vasopressors/inotropes, and performs procedures such as invasive line placement and chest tube placement based on ability. The institution offers personalized critical care training to support top-of-license practice, including procedures, and provides paid CME and licensing. The position requires night and weekend work. Staff must be vaccinated against influenza as a condition of employment.
Requirements
- Massachusetts PA license required.
Nice To Haves
- Two or more years of Critical Care, Emergency Medicine, or Cardiothoracic Surgery experience preferred.
- Critical Care Fellowship preferred.
Responsibilities
