About The Position

Animal Hospital of Shawnee Hills is seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) with a strong surgical background to join their growing team. Requirements

• Active RVT credentials
• Proven surgical experience
• Confidence, detail-oriented, and passionate about patient safety
• Strong knowledge of anesthesia monitoring and patient recovery protocols
• Proficiency with surgical preparation, sterile technique, and instrument handling
• Confidence placing IV catheters, drawing blood, and collecting diagnostic samples
• Experience with dental prophylaxis and dental radiography
• Ability to anticipate the needs of veterinarians during procedures
• Excellent communication skills
• A positive, collaborative approach to teamwork

Nice To Haves

• Fear Free® certification or experience utilizing Fear Free® handling techniques
• Experience in an AAHA-accredited practice
• Feline Friendly Practice® experience
• A passion for mentoring and supporting fellow team members

• Assisting in a high-volume surgical environment
