Job Opportunity: We are growing and we are looking for a Surgical Coordinator to join our team! This is a hybrid role combining surgical coordination and patient advocacy—ideal for someone who enjoys both detailed administrative work and meaningful patient interaction.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a medical office setting preferred

Responsibilities

  • Being a surgical scheduler for refractive, cataract and laser procedures, as well as help patients understand financial responsibilities and obtaining consents for surgery.
  • Ensuring patients have a clear understanding of their insurance coverage and financial expectations - reducing confusion and creating a seamless surgical experience.
  • Coordinating surgical care from consultation through post-op, creating a smooth, stress free experience for patients.
  • Creating daily evaluation reports to verify in-network insurance status, complete detailed benefit verifications (including deductibles, co-pays, and coinsurance), obtain required referrals and prior authorizations, and develop accurate financial estimates for patients.
  • Answering patient phone calls promptly and addressing patient concerns.
  • Processing Mission Vision and patient assistance program applications for patients.

  • Position Pay: Starting at $21.00/hour. Actual compensation offered by Vance Thompson Vision may vary and is dependent on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills and geographic location.
