About The Position

The Operating Room at Chelsea Hospital performs more than 5,000 inpatient and outpatient surgeries annually across various fields including gynecology, orthopedics, ophthalmology, general surgery, otorhinolaryngology, podiatry, plastic surgery, and spine surgery. The Surgical Care Tech is responsible for cleaning and disinfecting Endoscopes and other related equipment. This role also involves performing various surgical care tech duties such as transporting patients, taking vital signs, performing urine pregnancy tests, and discontinuing IVs. Additionally, the tech handles clerical duties and housekeeping tasks, including cleaning stretchers, equipment, and terminally cleaning the Surgical Department.

Requirements

• Minimum of high school diploma.
• A minimum of one-year previous related experience.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and disinfects Endoscopes and other related equipment as assigned.
• Performs surgical care tech duties as assigned (i.e., transporting patients, vital signs, performs urine pregnancy test, discontinuing IV’s etc).
• Performs clerical duties as assigned.
• Performs housekeeping duties (Cleaning stretchers, equipment, terminally cleaning of the Surgical Department, etc.).
