About The Position

Chelsea Hospital is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Surgical Care Tech to join its Endoscopy/Pain Department at the Chelsea Professional Building in Chelsea, Michigan. The facility includes 16 prep/PACU bays, two pain procedure rooms, and four endoscopy suites. The Surgical Care Tech cleans and disinfects endoscopes and other related equipment as assigned. The role also performs assigned surgical care technician duties, such as transporting patients, taking vital signs, performing urine pregnancy tests, and discontinuing IVs. Additional assigned duties include clerical work and housekeeping, such as cleaning stretchers and equipment and terminally cleaning the Surgical Department. This is a full-time, benefit-eligible position scheduled for 80 hours per pay period, with eight-hour day shifts. Start times vary between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. depending on the day's case load.

Requirements

Minimum of a high school diploma.
At least one year of previous related experience.

Responsibilities

Clean and disinfect endoscopes and other related equipment as assigned.
Perform assigned surgical care technician duties, including transporting patients, taking vital signs, performing urine pregnancy tests, and discontinuing IVs.
Perform clerical duties as assigned.
Perform housekeeping duties, including cleaning stretchers and equipment and terminally cleaning the Surgical Department.
