Requirements

Excellent communication skills in English.

Definite interest in the field of health and in helping others.
Comfortable with computers, technology, and Microsoft 365.
Comfortable working on your feet in the operating room.
Work with precision and accuracy.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of EMR systems is an asset.
Experience in the healthcare field (Optometric Assistant, Orderly, Dental Assistant, Pharmacy Lab Technician, Sterilization Assistant, Animal Health Technician, Veterinary Assistant, Medical Device Reprocessing Technician, etc.) is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

Work closely with the ophthalmologist; anticipate their actions while following protocols.
Coordinate each intervention as part of a team.
Prepare the room and its tools before the procedure.
Become a specialist in the tools and technologies used in intraocular procedures.
Support the organization’s Risk Management program by identifying and promptly reporting patient safety concerns, incidents, or potential risks to clinic management, to assist in the organization’s overall efforts to identify, report, and mitigate risks.
