Requirements

• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Ability to connect with others and quickly build trust.
• Sense of responsibility and take your role seriously.
• Definite interest in the field of health and in helping others.
• Comfortable with computers, technology, and Microsoft 365.
• Willingness to occasionally help out our partnering LASIK MD clinics in the ON region (planning & expenses covered by Vision Group).
• Flexible availability to work on Wednesdays, Thursdays & Saturdays between the hours of 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM, with occasional Tuesdays 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of EMR systems is an asset.
• Experience in the healthcare field is considered an asset (Optometric Assistant, Orderly, Dental Assistant, Pharmacy Lab Technician, Sterilization Assistant, Animal Health Technician, Veterinary Assistant, Medical Device Reprocessing Technician, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Sterilize instruments and set up tools as needed.
• Reassure patients before and after their procedure and ensure they feel at ease showing empathy.
• Clearly explain the post-operative medication (eye drops) schedule to patients.
• Coordinate the flow of patients in and out of the operating room.
• Support the organization’s Risk Management program by identifying and promptly reporting patient safety concerns, incidents, or potential risks to clinic management, to assist in the organization’s overall efforts to identify, report, and mitigate risks.
