About The Position

Contributes to the team by assisting the physician with the performance of surgical procedures and instruments.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certification from an accredited school for Operating Room Technician, or graduate from an accredited practical nursing school, or extensive preparation through on-the-job training
• Current licensure as indicated by profession (LPN must be licensed by State Board of Nursing)
• Minimum of two (2) years training in surgical technology from a comparable medical institution (a graduate of an accredited program in Surgical Technology may substitute for experience)
• LPNs must have one (1) year experience as a scrub technician (a graduate of an accredited program in Surgical Technology may substitute for experience)
• Proficient Knowledge of duties and responsibilities of a surgical technician
• Ability to communicate with co-workers in a professional manner
• Ability to learn advanced procedures, instruments, and techniques

Nice To Haves

• Certification in Surgical Technology
• One (1) year experience as a Certified Surgical Technician
• Five (5) years of work experience as Surgical Technician
