Veterinary Technician - Surgery
About The Position
BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring an exceptional Surgery Veterinary Technician in Los Angeles, CA! This role is for passionate assistants looking to improve their skills in the veterinary field, specifically in surgery. The position offers an opportunity to work with bright veterinary professionals in the industry. The schedule is Wednesday-Saturday. The pay range is $24.00 - $49.00 per hour, with a $3,000 sign-on bonus for qualified RVT candidates. This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through the Kahuna leveling system. Competitive shift differential pay is offered for eligible hours worked on nights and weekends, with a 4-hour minimum. For example, Mon-Fri 6pm to 8am earns a $4.00 shift differential, while Sat & Sun 6pm to 8am earns $5.50, and Sat & Sun 8am to 6pm earns $4.00.
Requirements

Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for surgery.
- Safely restrain patients for procedures.
- Place intravenous catheters in all peripheral veins.
- Perform phlebotomy.
- Prepare slides for cytology.
- Proficiently perform digital radiographs.
- Monitor patients during anesthesia or while sedated.
- Perform advanced imaging such as CT scans and MRI procedures.
- Mentor and train other co-workers.
- Address client concerns with patience and empathy.
