About The Position
The MUSC Department of Neurosurgery is seeking a Surgery Scheduling Supervisor to help lead this dynamic team into the future. We are looking for an individual who is motivated to build relationships with both team members and patients to enhance OR scheduling and efficiency.
Requirements
- Graduated from an accredited school of nursing
- Current licensure by the South Carolina State Board of Nursing
- Minimum of three years of medical practice/clinical management experience
- Other experience may be substituted in lieu of practice/clinical management
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required

Responsibilities
- Coordinating day-to-day logistics of the surgery scheduling team
- Overseeing the utilization of department assigned operating room blocks
- Assigning workloads and managing staff
- Developing strategic initiatives to address OR utilization gaps
- Scheduling surgeries
- Communicating with patients
- Communicating with physicians for a subset of surgeons in the department
