Requirements

Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Understand/Perform training on practice management software.
Continue to expand knowledge of practice management software as updates occur.
Follow all Standard Operating Procedures.
High school diploma or GED.
Minimum 1-year experience of medical scheduling.

Nice To Haves

2 years of experience surgery scheduling.

Responsibilities

Schedule, coordinate, and reschedule surgeries.
Communicate necessary information to patients, staff, and physicians.
Verify necessary information and records information in patient's medical record.
Coordinate necessary equipment, surgical assists, and anesthesia relative to surgeries.
Maintain and updates physician's calendars.
Answer telephone, screens calls, clears voicemail, returns patient calls in a timely manner.
Answer questions regarding patient's upcoming surgeries.
Update patient information.
Prepare surgical packet materials.
Assist in training and orienting of new staff.
