About The Position
We are looking for a full-time Surgery Scheduler to join the team. The role verifies patient eligibility and insurance coverage; schedules surgeries, hospital procedures, and pre- and post-operative appointments; discusses preoperative instructions with patients as directed by physicians; and obtains requested medical clearances, preoperative testing, laboratory results, and EKG results as indicated. Additional duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED certificate.
- Ability to perform multiple and diverse tasks with frequent interruption.
- Working knowledge of medical insurance.
- EHR/EMR experience.
Nice To Haves
- College education preferred.
- One year of experience with a physician group practice preferred.
- Experience as a medical assistant (MA).
