About The Position

The Surgery Scheduler/Precertification Specialist schedules surgeries, collecting complete, accurate information; securing appropriate physician orders and verifying reimbursement sources. The Scheduler will be cross-trained in other functions of the front office and reports directly to the Patient Care Manger.

Requirements

• Moderate computer knowledge
• Excellent planning and organization skills
• Good communication skills
• Working knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT coding
• Basic knowledge of insurance billing requirements
• Ability to move, traverse, position self, remain in a stationary position and negotiate steps for up to eight hours per day
• Ability to lift materials weighing up to 25 pounds
• Articulate speech
• Telephone and computer work

Nice To Haves

• Formal training which will probably be indicated by a high school diploma or equivalent
• A minimum of two years experience in the medical field, preferably ENT training
