Requirements
- Previous experience in a Medical Care Setting.
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
- Strong clerical and computer skills.
- Command of the English language.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in the OR preferred.
Responsibilities
- Routinely books surgical cases for pediatric, adolescent, adult and older adult patients for the OR and the G.I. Lab.
- Coordinates and confirms the acquisition of services, equipment, instrumentation and supplies from outside vendors for scheduled surgeries.
- Prepares and distributes the surgical schedule and on call list to appropriate departments or personnel.
- Checks, enters and reconciles the daily patient charges.
- Prepares and distributes the monthly surgical statistics.
- Updates the Surgery Schedules and completes the required Log Book.
- Answers phones and appropriately communicates messages.
- Assists OR Director and Charge Nurse with additional clerical duties.
- Works with coworkers, other departments and outside companies, assisting with the provision of safe, efficient and quality patient care.
