About The Position

This position supports procedural scheduling for Invasive Cardiology which includes the Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Electrophysiology Lab, and CV procedures. Patient Access roles are responsible for managing patient entry points into the healthcare system, including scheduling, registration, and verifying insurance. Patient access staff ensure that patients can efficiently navigate administrative processes while maintaining data accuracy and enhancing the patient experience. Individual contributors who provide support to Invasive Cardiology at UVA Health, often in direct service, operational, technical or administrative functions. Spends majority of time in the delivery of support services or activities, typically under supervision. Seasoned individual contributor. Works under limited supervision for routine situations. Problems are typically non-routine and require analysis to understand. Makes minor adjustments to working methods and independently develops solutions to problems. Explains practices, procedures and policies to reach agreement with others outside of the Job Area.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent required.
  • 3 years’ experience in a clinical setting (hospital, surgery center or ambulatory clinic) in an administrative or clinical role required (for external candidates).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the duties of the Access Associate Senior role (for internal candidates).

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree in a related field preferred.
