About The Position

SurgCenter of Plano is seeking a dedicated Surgery Scheduler / Insurance Verifier to join their team. This role is crucial in ensuring smooth patient flow and accurate financial and scheduling processes. The center specializes in ENT, Ortho/Total Joints, Sports Medicine, Podiatry, and Pain Management, and is accredited by the Joint Commission, licensed by the state of Texas, and Medicare certified.

Requirements

1 Year of medical insurance verification REQUIRED
Experienced with scheduling (minimum 1 year)
High School diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

Validating and entering patient information and insurance coverage into the appropriate computer system.
Communicating with physician offices, insurance carriers, and performing patient follow-ups.
Planning and scheduling surgical and related appointments for doctors.
Managing certain functions related to Credentialing of professional staff members for the facility.
Collecting insurance co-pays.
Maintaining the master schedule to ensure coordination between doctors, anesthesia, lab, and insurance carriers.
Scheduling surgeries and coordinating the schedule between the Surgery Center and doctor's offices.
Gathering all detailed information for the patient's chart, such as type of procedure, supplies, special equipment required, insurance information, etc.
Entering all patient information in the computer system.
Scheduling all surgical anesthesia services required according to doctor preference and availability.
Assuring that pre-certification/referrals are in order for the Insurance Coordinator.
