We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and team-oriented Operating Room Registered Nurse - PRN (OR RN - PRN) to join our Surgery Department. As an OR RN, you will play a vital role in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality surgical care while supporting patients through some of their most important healthcare experiences.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Knowledge of patient care practices, aseptic technique, sterilization, and infection prevention principles.
- Demonstrates strong critical thinking skills and a willingness to learn and grow professionally.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Kansas.
- Current BLS certification required (or ability to obtain upon hire).
Nice To Haves
- Previous operating room experience is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Prepare patients and the operating room for surgical procedures.
- Monitor patient status throughout procedures and advocate for patient safety at all times.
- Maintain sterile technique and support infection prevention practices.
- Assist with surgical procedures while ensuring compliance with established policies and standards.
- Accurately document patient care and surgical activities.
- Contribute to a positive, respectful, and team-focused work environment.
