About The Position

Serve as a liaison between insurance and health care providers to ensure the timely coordination, and accurate processing, of patient referrals required for medical specialty visits. Tracking and documentation of patients referrals to promote team awareness and ensure patient safety. Assemble patient demographics, insurance/payer adn health data. Insurance/payer prior authorization. Provide patient and family communication, navigation, and advocacy through the referral process. Establish and maintain communication and relationships with identified service providers and community services. Update patient records with demographics, insurance and information on specialist consults, hospitalizations, ER visits and community organizations related to thier health.

Requirements

• Associate degree plus one (1) year of experience directly related to the processing of patient referrals
• High school diploma or GED plus three (3) years of experience working as a Certified Medical Assistant
• High school diploma or GED plus five (5) years of experience directly related to patient registration, patient scheduling, patient billing/collections, the processing of prior authorizations, and/or the processing of patient referrals.
