About The Position

The Surgery Attendant is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and properly prepared environment throughout The Surgery Center. This role performs terminal cleaning of The Surgery Center at the end of each day and supports daily operations by ensuring surgical suites are thoroughly cleaned, stocked, and organized for procedures. The Surgery Attendant provides essential non-clinical support to the surgical team but does not perform the duties of a Surgical Technologist or Sterile Processing Technician. Part-time, benefitted position scheduled for 48 hours per two-week pay period. This role consists of two 12-hour shifts per week, working Monday through Friday from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM, with no weekends or holidays required.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Terminally clean the OR, Surgery Center and Sterile Processing at the end of each day and after contaminated surgeries in accordance with established infection control and safety standards.
  • Assist with quick and efficient turnover of the operating rooms between surgical cases.
  • Clean all surfaces, including floors and equipment between cases.
  • Clean and return equipment to storerooms after case completion.
  • Remove unnecessary supplies from OR suites after case completion.
  • Assist in the gathering of essential equipment and supplies for subsequent cases.
  • Check for basic functionality of equipment and report malfunctions.
  • Dispose of trash, linen and biohazard waste throughout the day.
  • Restock linens, supplies, and other necessary items in the surgical area.
  • Assist the OR team with non-clinical tasks to support efficient workflow.
  • Maintain an organized and sanitary work environment in the surgical suites.
  • Report any safety concerns to the department leads.
  • Follow all hospital policies, safety guidelines, and infection prevention procedures.
