About The Position

This is a full-time day position responsible for transporting adult and pediatric patients, assisting with setting up orthopedic equipment, receiving and putting away storeroom supplies, and performing errands as directed by Nursing personnel. The role also involves assisting with room turnover in the O.R., retrieving blood and blood products, and delivering specimens to the laboratory.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent
BLS Certification

Nice To Haves

CNA, EMT, Nursing Student
Previous Operating Room experience

Responsibilities

Transports adult and pediatric patients to the O.R. and post-operatively as requested.
Assists with Surgical Services room turnover.
Restocks department throughout the day.
Performs errands as directed.
Performs miscellaneous Surgical Service department tasks as directed by supervising staff.
Manages equipment and furniture placement, distribution, and processing between cases in the O.R.
Follows Infection Control procedures at all times.
Responsible for complying with all policies and procedures that pertain to HIPAA including the minimum necessary requirements for this job position.
Performs and fulfills all HICS (hospital incident command system) responsibilities, assignments, tasks, and roles as directed and needed by the facility in times of emergency and/or disaster. Responsible for knowing the Hospital’s emergency codes, including the purpose and appropriate action for each, and adheres to the Hospital policies and procedures for each emergency code.
Accepts/participates on assigned Team for Hurricane response.
