About The Position

This PRN position is responsible for handling the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during surgical procedures. The extern will anticipate the needs of the surgeon, ensure quality patient care, and maintain the sterile field. This role functions in partnership with licensed staff and performs patient care duties for clients of various age groups under the direction of a Certified Surgical Technologist and/or a Registered Nurse.

Requirements

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
• A student currently enrolled in an Accredited Surgical Technologist program, in their last semester, and graduating within six months Required
• Graduate of an Accredited Surgical Technologist program without a hands-on clinical rotation.
• No experience required
• BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required

• Understanding the procedure being performed and anticipating the needs of the surgeon.
• Ensuring quality patient care during the operative procedure.
• Maintaining the sterile field.
• Functioning in partnership with licensed staff.
• Performing patient care duties for clients of various age groups under the direction of a Certified Surgical Technologist and/or a Registered Nurse.
