About The Position

The San Jacinto River Authority is seeking to fill the position of night shift Utility Operator at our 30MGD surface water treatment plant, GRP (Groundwater Reduction Plan) Division in Conroe, Texas. This position would operate water treatment, supply, transmission and distribution systems in a safe, cost-effective and efficient manner, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. Some of the duties include: Operating and maintaining water treatment equipment and systems. Monitoring and adjusting treatment processes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Performing routine maintenance and repairs on equipment. Collecting and analyzing water samples. Preparing reports and maintaining records. Communicating with other operators and supervisors to ensure efficient and effective operation of the treatment plant. This position is classified as a safety sensitive position. The individual holding this position is subject to random, unannounced drug and alcohol testing. This position is classified as primary essential personnel. The individual holding this position will be required to work as usual or as needed (1) during an emergency event, (2) in preparation for an emergency event, and/ or (3) during recovery from an emergency event as directed by their direct supervisor, appropriate Department/Division Manager, the appropriate Senior Level Manager, or the General Manager. Night Shift Position Hours: 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 2 years of progressively responsible experience in the operations and maintenance of surface water treatment systems.
  • A minimum of a TCEQ Class C Surface Water Operator and/or Class C Groundwater license is required.
  • Valid Texas Driver’s license with an insurable driving record.

Responsibilities
