About The Position

FAIR-RITE PRODUCTS CORP. is expanding its grinding team and is looking to add a member to their team of Surface Grinding Operators on day shift. This position involves performing entry-level tasks related to setting up, monitoring, operating, and adjusting various grinding machines and lapping machines. The role requires learning to use measurement tools, inspect parts, and complete basic paperwork. Adherence to quality, environmental, and safety standards is essential.

Requirements

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
1 – 3 months on the job training and or experience
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to operate all grinding machines and instruments
Ability to write simple correspondence
Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations
Ability to work under minimal or no supervision
Good hand-eye coordination
Ability to operate CMS / ERP system effectively
Good spatial perception

Nice To Haves

Vocational / Technical Education or Technical Training Certificate
3 months on the job training and or experience
PC / Computer skills are recommended
Ability to use the tool data collection / SPC

Responsibilities

Perform entry level of skill for set-up, monitor, operate and adjust grinding machines, such as the Gallmayer grinder, Blanchard grinder, Abplanalp grinder or Lapping machines
Basic level of knowledge of choosing proper grinding machine as specified by WOP.
Follow proper procedures for machine set-up and adjustment.
Wash ferrite cores and place in oven.
Must learn or be able to check size of parts periodically using appropriate tools as stated in the work instructions
Must learn or be able to read micrometer, caliper, dial indicator tools and plot measurements, checking for consistency.
Must learn or be able to interpret readings
Must learn or be able to inspect parts under microscope to assure a quality product.
Complete basic paperwork specified in Work Order Packet including measurements from pre-control forms
Other non-essential duties may be assigned as necessary
Follow all relevant Quality and / or Environmental standards to which Fair Rite is certified
Follow all O.S.H.A. standards and the Fair-Rite Safety and Health Policy.
