About The Position

The Expediter (Surface Operations) provides critical logistical and operational support to drilling crews by ensuring tools, equipment, consumables, and replacement parts are delivered safely, accurately, and on time. This position serves as a key link between drilling operations, maintenance, warehouse personnel, vendors, and mine sites, helping minimize downtime and maintain productivity. The role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving and towing skills, the ability to work independently, and the physical capability to load, unload, and transport drilling equipment and materials in surface and underground mining environments.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license required, REAL ID recommended.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain access to customer mine sites.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • Safe driving record.
  • Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles preferred.

  • Ability to walk on uneven terrain and work in outdoor environments during all weather conditions.
  • Ability to enter active mine sites and comply with all site-specific safety requirements.
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, climb, and drive for extended periods.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in mining, drilling, construction, heavy equipment, transportation, logistics, or industrial operations preferred.
  • Experience working on active mining or drilling operations.
  • Experience hauling trailers, gooseneck trailers, and flatbeds.
  • Familiarity with drilling equipment, drilling consumables, rods, bits, pumps, and hydraulic components.
  • Knowledge of load securement and trailer safety practices.
  • Experience operating in underground or remote mining environments.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver parts, tools, consumables, and equipment to underground and surface drilling crews.
  • Coordinate material requests with operations, maintenance, warehouse personnel, and vendors.
  • Verify orders and ensure the correct materials are delivered to the appropriate location.
  • Track deliveries and communicate shipment status to operational teams.
  • Respond to urgent requests and changing priorities to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Assist with inventory movement and organization of drilling supplies and equipment.
  • Safely operate company vehicles on public roadways, mine-site roads, and off-road conditions.
  • Transport materials using trucks, trailers, flatbeds, and gooseneck trailers.
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
  • Properly secure loads using approved tie-down and load securement practices.
  • Comply with all Department of Transportation (DOT), mine site, and company transportation requirements.
  • Back trailers and maneuver vehicles safely in confined and challenging environments.
  • Follow all MSHA, mine site, customer, and company safety policies and procedures.
  • Identify and report unsafe conditions, behaviors, or hazards immediately.
  • Conduct vehicle and trailer inspections, ensuring all equipment remains in safe working condition.
  • Participate in safety meetings, training programs, and site-specific compliance requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records related to inspections, deliveries, and transportation activities.
  • Assist drilling crews with receiving and handling equipment and supplies.
  • Verify replacement parts and components before delivery or installation.
  • Support equipment mobilizations, demobilizations, and special projects as needed.
  • Maintain professional communication with mine personnel, supervisors, vendors, and coworkers.
