About The Position

OceanaGold's Haile Mine is seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Operators to join the team to operate a variety of haul trucks. The role involves ensuring safe and efficient operation of haul trucks, reporting hazards, maximizing machine performance, and assisting in mine support activities. The position requires performing pre-shift inspections and working a rotating schedule of 12-hour shifts, including days and nights.

Requirements

• 1 year experience operating equipment
• Willingness to work night shift
• Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English
• Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
• Must be able to work shift work with 12-hour shifts
• Regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear and see
• Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the workday

Responsibilities

• Operation of haul trucks
• Ensure the haul truck is operated safely and in accordance with company procedures
• Report any operational hazards to the Supervisor
• Ensure the haul truck is operated for reliability (O4R)
• Operate the haul truck productively while maximizing machine life and machine performance
• Communication via 2-way radio
• Assists in mine support activities as necessary
• Perform pre-shift inspection and document appropriately
