About The Position

OceanaGold's Haile Mine is seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Operators to join the team to operate a variety of haul trucks.

1 year experience operating equipment
Willingness to work night shift
Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English
Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
Must be able to work shift work with 12-hour shifts.
Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the workday.

Excellent problem-solving skills with complex problems, including both definition of the problem and generation and evaluation of solutions.
Excellent planning and organizational skills, including goal setting, group performance monitoring and the ability to modify priorities where necessary to achieve these goals.
The ability to decide from a range of competing options where the outcomes are not entirely predictable.
Effective written and oral communication skills, and the ability to convince others to co-operate and contribute.

Operation of haul trucks
To ensure the haul truck is operated safely and in accordance with company procedures
To report any operational hazards to the Supervisor
To ensure the haul truck is operated for reliability (O4R)
Operating the haul truck productively while maximizing machine life and machine performance
Communication via 2-way radio
Assists in mine support activities as necessary
Perform pre-shift inspection and document appropriately
