We are seeking a skilled mid level Surface Artist with strong experience in procedural texturing to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who is highly proficient in Substance Designer and capable of creating a wide variety of high-quality, game-ready materials. In return, you will be part of an experienced creative and supportive team working on various AAA titles! This is a Fixed-Term Employment role that requires to be fully onsite in Portland, OR and requires to follow a standard schedule of 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM PST.

Requirements

  • A strong portfolio/demo reel with recent work showcasing proficiency in environment and prop art for video games (must submit to be considered)
  • 3+ years of professional experience working as a Surface Artist/Material Artist in the video game industry
  • Strong proficiency in Substance Designer
  • Experience creating a diverse range of procedural materials
  • Familiarity with real-time rendering workflows
  • Working knowledge of Substance Painter and 3DS Max
  • Comfortable with light technical tasks in a proprietary game engine.

Responsibilities

  • Create high-quality procedural materials using Substance Designer
  • Develop a wide range of material types suitable for real-time environments
  • Collaborate with artists and technical teams to ensure assets meet project requirements
  • Implement and test materials within a proprietary game engine
  • Perform light technical setup and troubleshooting as needed
