Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 5 years of related experience in commercial surety underwriting.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
Proven ability to operate with integrity, accountability, and professionalism.

Nice To Haves

Progression toward certifications such as Associate in Surety and Fidelity Bonding (AFSB), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or Registered Professional Liability Underwriter (RPLU) is preferred.

Responsibilities

Analyze and interpret business reports, including credit checks, bank agreements, and financial statements, to support underwriting processes.
Oversee risk selection, pricing, retention, growth, and profitability for the assigned branch office.
Assess risk quality in compliance with company guidelines and standards.
Review underwriting decisions and provide recommendations for extending surety credit, including terms and conditions.
Develop and maintain strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Deliver exceptional customer service and communicate effectively with clients and team members.
Ensure timely and informed decision-making while maintaining integrity and honesty.
Coach and develop team members to achieve established objectives.
Utilize independent judgment and initiative to support business goals.
