About The Position

Zurich North America Claims is hiring a Surety Senior Claims Professional (Attorney) to join their team. This is a virtual position with a home-based office, and there are no billable hours. The role involves managing a caseload of moderate to high complexity Surety claims from start through settlement and resolution, within specific authority limits. The goal is to ensure claims are handled efficiently and effectively, adhering to Zurich’s claims best practices and customer-led commitment. The position requires developing strong partnerships through extensive communication with principals, brokers, and internal business unit contacts. Travel of approximately 25% is required for project site visits or other business needs.

Requirements

Juris Doctor and 5 or more years of experience in the Legal area
JD and 5 or more years of legal practice experience in the insurance area
Must obtain and maintain required adjuster license(s)
Experience in insurance claims and the insurance legal and regulatory environment
Negotiation experience
Customer service experience
Microsoft Office experience

Analyzing coverage, liability and damages
Participating in mediations and negotiating settlements
Drafting coverage and denial letters, underwriter notification of claim issues, etc.

Directing activities of defense counsel
