About The Position

Under the general supervision of Brown University Health Supply Chain Logistics Managers and Leadership, the Supply Chain Logistics Supervisor is accountable for the day-to-day operations for assigned departments. This includes the supervision of direct reports for areas of accountability. The supervisor will be responsible for employee individual performance, act as a conduit for communication between their team and upper management, manage the workflow of their department and execute projects as required. Supervisor will alsoparticipate in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, process improvements as assigned. Requirements

Associate Degree or a High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of four years logistics experience.
Relative experience as a team lead or in a supervisory or leadership role:
Basic knowledge of medical terminology and inventory management.
A high level of interpersonal skills to effectively represent Brown University Health and Supply Chain in interactions with all levels of personnel within and outside the organization.
Proficient in Microsoft Office tools and ability to learn necessary supporting information system.

Responsibilities

Monitors and encourages standardization, escalating opportunities and controlling rogue utilization through communication and established channels.
Maintains a disciplined inventory of supplies in multiple locations anticipating needs for procedures and patient care.
Monitors utilization and requisitions items to meet demand.
Performs daily stock verifications and prepares related reports and adjustments.
Establishes and maintains necessary control measures to maximize supply availability, fill rates and inventory turns.
Monitors usage of inventoried supply items; recommends discontinuance of certain inventory items where infrequent usage is demonstrated.
Ensures accurate and sufficient inventory of supplies are maintained in the accountable areas – examples are Procedural Areas/Perioperative Service, Brown University Health Distribution Center, Central Supply Distribution, Supervises Distribution Techs, Procedural Techs, Supply Chain Leads, and or Central Supply Techs as assigned, assisting employees in resolving work-related issues and conflicts on shift as necessary.·
Functions as an integral part of Supply Chain Logistics by monitoring and improving key performance metrics.
Oversees or places orders, expedites shipments as appropriate, and receives orders, managing and reconciling product or pricing discrepancies.
Maintains healthy and communicative customer relationships with management and individual contributors and acts as a point of escalation for departmental issues.
Provides input and performs implementation activities to a system-wide inventory management system and other relevant technology solutions.
Establishes processes and workflows built on efficiency, visibility, technology, and inventory management.
Establishes, monitors, and ensures success for productivity and quality goals for individual contributors and the team to continuously improve efficiency, quality, and cost.
Participates in the interviewing and selection of staff.
Schedules, trains, assigns work, and evaluates performance of staff.
Recommends need for corrective action up to and including termination as appropriate.
Assists in development and implements training programs to enhance operational performance.
Coordinates system and department education and training activities.
Communicates clear and timely instructions, including documented processes, to ensure the successful completion of tasks.
Identifies item shortages, conversions, and backorders, escalating appropriately and coordinating resolutions, as well as judicious management of dated materials, recalls, and Product Notifications as needed.
Provides root cause analysis and corrective action for operational issues.
Ensures adherence to procedures, policies, and regulations as it relates to the management of supplies and equipment.
