About The Position

This position leads a program with high quality and complies with rules, regulations, and policy set forth by MNPS, TDOE, DCS, and DHS. The role involves planning, directing, and monitoring academic and enrichment activities for students in grades Pre-K through 5th. The supervisor is responsible for supervising and evaluating the performance of Extended Learning Program (ELP) Part-Time staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field.
  • Two (2) years of applicable experience or education.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.
  • Proposal and grant writing skills.
  • Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.

Responsibilities

  • Aligns the scope of academic, enrichment, and parent engagement offerings with the school day and/or district.
  • Prepares program lesson plans and staff schedules.
  • Facilitates parent communication.
  • Markets the program to families and the community.
  • Oversees school-based enrollment.
  • Evaluates Assistant Supervisors and ELP Staff in conjunction with rules, regulations, and policy.
  • Develops engaging instruction and enrichment opportunities for students and families.
  • Maintains accurate documentation, including but not limited to, attendance, emergency contact, incident reports, and accounting reports.
  • Gathers and reports data upon request.
  • Attends and participates in ongoing training and staff meetings, planning, and training sessions.
  • Provides on-the-job training for assistant supervisors and ELP staff.
  • Creates and facilitates site-specific trainings for ELP staff.
  • Develops positive relationships with the Extended Learning leadership team, school staff, community partners, students, families, and other stakeholders.
